Employee Relations And Compliance Educator
CurrentPartner with HR Department Managers (Water, Finance, IT, Fire Dept, Police Dept, Procurement, Transportation, among others) as well as the City’s Attorneys’ office to provide response/position statements related to charges of discrimination in employment from outside agencies such as the Department of Labor (“DOL”) or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”). Develop and update city policies; develop and conduct policy training to ensure compliance with federal and/or state laws. Partner with HR Department Managers, City’s recruitment, compensation, classification, benefits, organizational development and HR information systems divisions to provide a holistic employment relations and engagement environment. Train supervisors, managers, and employees on workforce management best practices, policies, procedures, etc. Lead and facilitate the City's employee grievance process, to include panel member hearings. Conduct complex employee relations investigations if escalated beyond department managers.
