I began my professional career as a high school English teacher at Harwood Career Preparatory High School in Evansville, Indiana. I was the Social and Emotional Learning coach. I ran an after school hip-hop program that won me a Leadership Award for Innovation in Education in 2019. I had been scored as highly effective. I ran the Tier-II mentoring program in 2018-2019. I founded a dual-credit English class in accordance with Ivy Tech at Harwood and have helped several students earn a college credit this past school year. I coached seventh grade basketball in the 2018-2019 school year, and I also assist with the after school basketball program at Harwood. I was also a Member Organizer for the Indiana State Teachers’ Association, as well as a Board Member.I then taught English at Central High School in Evansville, Indiana. I worked there during the 2020-2021 school year. I taught English and Yearbook classes. While at Central, I was the Yearbook Coordinator, Golf Coach, and Ping Pong Coach. In the summer of 2021, I worked at the University of Southern Indiana as an Adult Learner Support Specialist for the Center for Adult Learner Success. I was responsible for providing a full range of support services for adult learners throughout their educational life cycle at the University. This position had multiple roles including, advising, assisting adult learners with registration, maintaining and updating adult learner academic records, and providing technical assistance. Since November of 2021, I have worked at Indiana University as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Recruitment for the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. At IU, I maintained, implemented, and oversaw a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan. I developed, implemented, and administered plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment. I had a diverse and strategic communication strategy in collaboration with other departments. I served in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participated in the assessment and evaluation of various models. I provided guidance to admissions counselors.During the summer of 2021, I had a pull to return to the classroom as a teacher. After searching for jobs online, I found Yavneh Hebrew Academy and applied. After much consideration, I decided to return to the classroom. This is my first teaching experience at a private school. I am a member of the school's DEI and SEL teams.
