Data Ventures is the consultancy arm of Stats NZ. It brings together confidentialised datasets from the private sector that others haven’t been able to access to solve problems. Most noteworthy is the population density and spend density products that was critical to New Zealand's response to COVID-19 as it enabled the government to make decisions using near real-time data. I lead the strategic engagement with large private commercial entities from the telecommunications, payments, and banking sector to negotiate the exchange of data through a value exchange model, a government first. This required the development and implementation of data governance that address risks to privacy, confidentiality, commercial sensitivity of data. I lead a team of data scientist that transforms the data into actionable insights and products for our customers. The expertise I have gained from the Data Ventures operating model is now being used to consult international organisations as a valid use case for their data sourcing strategy. I am also providing internal expertise to Stats NZ to operationalise this business model

Organisational lead for transforming the business to adopt modern business frameworks. Incorporating concepts from Lean Start Up, Agile, Design Thinking to create an adaptive organisation and culture towards more sustainable innovative and agile thinking.This includes working with senior executives to educate them in the current business environment, the impact of disruptive and exponential technology, and how modern business frameworks mitigates some of the risks. I was the Technical and implementation lead for the redevelopment of the entire digital product suite. I provided direction and mentored internal staff in lean start up and agile development methodology. I lead the planning, change and risk analysis on the business and digital channels. I architect the technical solution using a data driven back-end model utilised APIs that fed into a modular material design front-end on Silverstripe.I project and product manage the ongoing implementation of Google's Material Design as a digital design standard for new digital products.I consulted on technologies to enable the accessibility of open data via APIs.I provide direction in the interpretation of web analytics for business decision making.I consulted for the channels and web strategy for future products and services.I manage project team of developers, DBAs, and infrastructure.

I was the product manager and technical lead for the ShopPin project for the first government accelerator programme.I provided direction on the project management of the project using the lean start up methodology.I provided direction and reviewed the user experience methods that were used to gain customer insights.I was the technical lead on the product, ensuring the platform is light weight, structured for scale, conform to industry standards, and ease of integration into various API platforms.
