  AS the Regional Sales Manager for Figueras International, I am responsible for developing sales for auditorium type seating throughout the Midwest. This requires extensive presentation skills and relationship building with the A&D community. Additional working relationships are required with: design firms, facility managers, property management groups, general contractors and commercial developers.My career background has been totally in the commercial furniture and design industry. I have worked for several major corporations (i.e. Steelcase, Inc./Atlanta.) While with Steelcase I was the District Manager for Dealer Development and responsible for several major Steelcase dealers. I developed strategic planning for vertical markets, hired and trained sales personnel and negotiated regional and national purchasing agreements. Additionally, I was the manager for Steelcase's A&D Group, which required me to develop marketing plans for our A&D Specialists, establishing seminars, presentations and social events.After leaving Steelcase I started my own commercial furniture and design dealership, which I steadily grew to annual sales of $4,000,000.00 and a staff of 20. Primary clients were major corporate accounts, but I expanded our exposure to include the hospitality sector (hotels, restaurants, country clubs and resorts.) My largest accounts were: The Ritz Carlton Resort Group and Quest Resort Group. I eventually expanded and added a Design/Build Construction division. I sold the company in 2008 and moved back to Chicago.
