Led the development and deployment of the integration plan for the HCA MEDITECH 6.0 Alpha Pilot Project. Defined and implemented a new enterprise-level integration strategy for revenue-cycle, which established new standard vendor interfaces while leaving the legacy client revenue-cycle system largely untouched. Established project reporting and tracking tools, and managed interface development staff activities. Worked directly with the vendor in an HCA-MEDITECH joint endeavour to evolve and document the new vendor standard versions of the HL7 2.4 interfaces for the new MEDITECH 6.0 product. A total of19 standard MEDITECH interfaces were defined for deployment with 61 third-party interconnections.

Coordinated the testing review, out-of-cycle testing, and pre-implementation planning and preparation for an enterprise-wide billing systems solution from Epic Systems.

Provided project management for the Electronic Health Record system selection activities, including development of analysis tools and all vendor demonstration logistics for the application and the technical analyses. Also, provided project management services for all Laboratory IT implementation initiatives, including analysis and tracking of overall department resource staffing and organization. The departmental resource forecasting and tracking tools were so successful that they were migrated to all of the IT clinical ancillary support departments and have become a standard.

Member of the executive management team for an Epic Systems clinical implementation, with primary focus on interfaces and system integration. Team Lead for the interface development team. Established strategy and tools for consistent and reliable interface analysis and build: scope/approach template, HL7 transaction template suite, WBS standard resource-driven project plan, etc. Managed interface development and deployment through successful site installation and operation.

Member of the support management team for a Cerner clinical implementation. Established the strategy for, and audited the implementation of, the application operation incident and change management processes for a national deployment among all affiliate healthcare delivery organizations.

Technical liaison of the build management team for an Epic Systems implementation at a new community hospital. Coordinated application change and import specifications, working with the national affiliate organization as part of change control management.

Led the strategic review and pre-implementation planning analysis for a new community hospital. Proposed clinical and operational strategy for new hospital as well as integration strategy for the enterprise. Success with the project led to follow-on operations and technical analysis for multi-facility emergency department.

Provided pre-implementation planning for three separate proposed Enterprise Master Person Index initiatives based on the global solution from Epic Systems for the enterprise.

Managed the coordinated multi-stage implementation of Cerner Millennium RadNet, PathNet, SurgiNet and FirstNet modules. Implementation included the migration from Cerner Classic laboratory and multiple legacy radiology systems. Assisted in the development and management of a project management office created for this project. The implementation brought FirstNet and SurgiNet into operation, followed by RadNet and PathNet several months later. The management of a large number of non-standard domains proceeded without incident. Co-created the custom project plan and integration strategy in concert with the vendor.

Managed the implementation of the Enterprise Master Person Index solution from Epic Systems for this 4th largest public healthcare institution in the nation. Also, provided technical support to a separate Siemens radiology system upgrade through go-live.

Member of the strategic analysis team examining the potential consolidation of information technology service governance and operations for four healthcare systems in one of the largest medical centers in the nation. Initiated successful vendor negotiations for a greatly improved and more cost-effective Internet connectivity solution for the four institutions.

Led the Ambulatory/Practice Management team in the enterprise foundation systems selection project for this 4th largest public healthcare systems in the nation. Managed the systems analysis and technical integration strategy for the selected enterprise business and clinical information systems. The foundation systems comprised patient accounting, patient management, practice management, ambulatory clinical, inpatient clinical, and enterprise master person identification applications. Also managed the systems analysis and technical integration strategy for the selected enterprise business and clinical information systems. Concluded successful vendor selection. Published technical strategy roadmap.

Managed the Project for Pharmacy Y2K Readiness for this large public healthcare system. Successfully re-mediated and documented systems from Mediware, DayTech, Baxter, McKesson, Pyxis, Omnicell, Lionville, and Micromedex.

Provided interim management for a healthcare system information services staff.

Managed one of the first major active implementations of an Enterprise Master Person Index solution in the nation, for a healthcare system with a daily registration volume of over 4000. The EMPI solution was deployed in concert with IDX and HBOC HealthQuest 2000 systems that integrated with a legacy TDS system.
