Materials Cost Management Toolmaker
Current25 years as a toolmaker in automotive stamping. Currently working on material savings (making the same part using less material). Part trials and die modifications are vital during this material savings process. Strokes per minute improvements, lube reduction, installation and trouble shooting die protection sensors. Trouble shooting/problem solving during production. Die maintenance and repair. Able to operate all conventional tool room machinery (lathes,mills, grinders, radial drills). Proficient at arc, tig and mig welding. Die design reviews and evaluation of new dies during various stages of the die build ( mostly at tool & die shops in Michigan).Miscellaneous projects as needed. Have followed outsourced crashed tooling until repair completion. In house apprentice training. Participation as a team member in multiple continuous improvement projects. Managed forty toolmakers for two years.
