Responsible for the management and development of patent matters for a wide range of technologies including the areas of RF oscillator/filter MEMs devices, hyper-dimensional computing hardware/software for machine learning, power systems and electronics, semiconductor memory devices and fabrication, computer systems architecture, audio technologies, biomedical devices, and related software. Significant experience drafting invalidity and non-infringement opinions as a defense to willfulness, representing clients during due diligence, counseling clients in the acquisition of technology, negotiating patent license agreements, and conducting strategic prosecution as part of litigation strategy. Drafted and prosecuted patents that were successfully litigated against large multinational corporations.  Bob has been ranked for the past 10 years (2024 to 2014) by Chambers USA in the area of Intellectual Property, and in Best Lawyers in America 2018-2024.Bob is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and the United States Patent Bar. He is a past Chair of the Intellectual Property (IP) Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
