Planned, deployed and supervised the Troop’s training and established and maintained the Squadron’s life support operations at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California for six weeks. Maintain proficiency as an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior pilot-in-command.A Troop (18 months): Led Troop of 36 officers and enlisted soldiers while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with more than 6,000 hours of air support. Responsible for ten OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters to attain 91% operational readiness rate with no safety accident/incident in 12 months. Accountable for the management of $56 million of Army equipment and property. Planned, deployed and supervised the Troop’s training in preparation for Iraq deployment at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, LA for six weeks.

Managed short-range and long-range training calendars for a 380-member Reconnaissance Squadron that was preparing for a deployment to Iraq. Responsible for scheduling all ground ranges and airspace training areas, for ammunition forecasting, and for production of training aids in order to support the Squadron’s deployment readiness. Coordinated with airport and airspace federal agencies to ensure aviation compliance for the Squadron’s 30 aircraft and for facilitating strategic airlift operations for worldwide deployment drills.

B Troop, 1-17 Cavalry Squadron (Air): Aeroscout Platoon Leader in the 82nd Airborne Division's Cavalry Squadron; responsive to Division's 18 hour, no-notice, worldwide contingency mission. Responsible for the combat readiness, welfare, and professional development of five officers and five enlisted paratroopers. Maintained and tactically employed over $15 million in equipment, including 4 OH58D Kiowa Warrior aircraft and related maintenance equipment. Maintained proficiency as a Pilot-in-Comand under day/night/NVG conditions. Perform duties as an Air Mission Commander during combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Nov 2004 - Oct 2005).
