Learned and assisted with all equipment set up / rig up, including all flow lines (chemical hoses, iron, bleed off lines, and pressure relief valves) and correct positioning of all valves for the current task. Learned all aspects of frac pumps, including how to operate them, perform routine maintenance, and recognize and diagnose mechanical problems. Operated all equipment on the backside (C-6 Chem Add, Hydration Unit, and Blender); learned how to check and maintain proper fluid levels needed by the equipment, as well as troubleshoot issues commonly encountered by the equipment. Learned the properties of common fluid systems and their situational impact for the unique reservoir and wellbore characteristics of the associated well. Learned the effects of all frac chemicals, which combined with field lab testing of the frac tank water, ensured the correct chemicals (and concentrations) were run to optimize the performance of the fluid system. Responsible for maintaining and compiling data values and totals for all stages pumped in a technical database for support of engineering functions and operations. Responsible for ordering and tracking all chemicals and sand, preparing post stage and job reports, and compiling final tickets

Assisted with research, which was aided by staff from the University of Wyoming petroleum engineering department, into secondary recovery from old wells in the Powder River Basin by water flooding. Also monitored drill bit performance for 2 wells drilled and completed in the Austin Chalk formation during internship, and their subsequent stimulation with a matrix acid job. Assisted with drilling and completion designs for 2 future wells to be drilled on the same lease.
