About Robert Eason
Robert (Rob) Eason is a Professor of Optoelectronics in the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC). From 2014-2018 he was the Associate Dean (Research) for the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering.He is a founder and Director of a recent spinout, Highfield Diagnostics, which is developing smart paper-based point-of-care diagnostic devices which have been fabricated using laser technology and promise to provide next generation rapid diagnostic capability for multiplexed, sensitive and semi-quantitative detection of a range of global diseases. Rob Eason has been in the ORC since 1989, and was appointed as a Professor of Optoelectronics in 2000.
