My journey into the aviation industry commenced in 2003 when I started training for my private pilot’s license. A year later I began attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) with the goal of earning a bachelor’s degree in aviation sciences with a professional pilot concentration. During my career at SOSU, I acquired a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating as well as a certified instructor certificate. In 2007 I began working for the aviation sciences department at SOSU as a staff flight instructor and continued in this role until 2010. I greatly enjoyed my experience working at the university; in particular, I valued being able to watch my students learn and grow into professional pilots. In 2012 I began taking classes at the University of North Texas in order to earn a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Logistics. My goal was to use my second degree in aviation to transition into the business/logistical side of aviation. In November 2013 I began an internship in the purchasing dept with the aviation logistics company Aersale. After my graduation from UNT in the spring of 2014, I began working full time as a program analyst with Aersale’s engine sales team. During my time in this position, I assisted the team by processing sales orders, providing customer support, and assisting product line managers with various assignments. I learned a great deal while working in this role and was fortunate to work with a competent and professional group of people. In the summer of 2015 I accepted a new position within Aersale as a repair administrator for the airframe materials group. Since rejoining the purchasing group in this new position, I have been able to take on new roles and responsibilities. I have been thankful for the chance to work with such a highly qualified team. Additionally, since entering this field, I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet many talented people throughout the aviation industry.
