● Senior responsibilities include overseeing one colleague and delegating tasks appropriately while ensuring the integrity of fourteen IIS servers. These servers are a combination of IIS 5.0 and IIS 6.0.● Responsible for proposal and implementation of a new IIS 6.0 architecture that emphasizes high availability.o The development and staging servers ran VMware Server and hosted guests dedicated to specific applications. o The IIS Servers were specifically tailored for ASP.NET in preparation for the agency to move completely that direction from Classic ASP. o The IIS Production Servers were a pair of servers that were load balanced behind a Cisco Content Server Switch● Identified problem areas and recommended methods of resolution to mitigate and prevent potential issues.● Support web developers in regard to their IIS applications and recommend solutions as needed. Forty of these applications were ASP.NET applications.● Extensive documentation of current environment and new infrastructure.● Implemented RepliWeb as a robust replacement for the old robocopy solution.

Greater Detroit Area

● Migration of 200 legacy IIS applications to new secure IIS 6 Server Farm. Manually searched all code for hard coded server references and non-standard UserID’s. Converted Access databases to SQL where appropriate and then changed connection strings and SQL statements where needed.● Installation, testing, and support of IIS Based COTS Applications.● Established an advanced build for IIS 6.0 with a concise build document.● Developed a procedure for quick recovery from disaster. This procedure consisted of five VBScripts to back up the IIS Metabase, export the configuration for each virtual server, back up the registry key for all DSN’s, exported the file system permissions. This is all documented in a concise document that explains the restore process for each scenario.● Supported web developers in troubleshooting applications and recommended solutions.● Participated in a project where mNotes was implemented which allowed end users to send and receive Lotus Notes email from their PDA’s. Wireless communications were a large part of this project and also included working with many executives on a moment’s notice to assist with troubleshooting wireless connectivity and to ensure proper functionality. Composed several procedural documents.

● High-level support of Internet Information Server, Web Security and functionality, MS SQL 7.0/2000 management, SQL development, documentation, and MS Site Server, Troubleshooting, Client Support.● Supported a large environment of web servers that grew from less than fifty servers to 300 servers over a span of three years and eight months. ● Participated in the planning and implementation of a WebTrends Reporting Center used for tracking web site traffic statistics. Developed technical documents for outlining standard procedures and then was the primary support contact for continued support.● Completed large amounts of Regulatory documentation for validation of systems as required by the Food and Drug Administration.● Worked with developers and departmental managers to gather requirements and develop sound business solutions for new projects and then coordinate and carry out the implementation.● Assisted developers in troubleshooting web sites. Normally, this was a matter of helping the developers recover from errors or memory leaks. This was usually remedied by cycling or killing and restarting IIS related processes.● Developed and implemented the follow processes:▪ An ASP based application that simultaneously created web folders, NTFS permissions, Site Server projects, and internal Content Deployment Projects on testing, staging, and production servers.▪ An automated procedure to dump Access Control List information and import the data into an existing SQL database. Upgraded the application to take advantage of the Global Catalogue which lessened the overhead required thus speeding up the application as well.▪ A VB Script to back up the IIS Metabase and keep ten centralized backups on file for 266 servers on a rotating basis. This script connects to a SQL database and backs up the servers that are marked as “active.”
