As a shipping clerk, I was responsible for monitoring the merchandise leaving the company's warehouse. This included creating shipping documents, such as invoices and purchase orders, and pulling inventory from the shelves. Once an order has been filled, I was responsible for monitoring each shipment to make sure that outgoing packages are packed correctly and accurately. I often needed to print shipping labels, schedule pickups, and ensure that each package had the proper postage. I also performed inventory control and tracked a shipment's delivery status. I was able to complete these tasks in a quick and orderly manner utilizing scanners, postage machines, scales, and, in some cases, a forklift to perform my job duties.
