Job Purpose: Provide Technical support to shop floor, assist Engineering in Design concepts from a build perspective, and assist all Departments in troubleshooting Quality/Technical issues as they arise throughout the production process. Essential Functions include the following: 1. Provide Technical support to the shop floor by clarifying design, S.O.W. (Statement of Work), MBD (Model Base Definition), and/or other concerns.2. Work with Tool Builders, Planners, Shop Leads, and PM’s to interpret Customer requirements and ensure P.O. obligations are satisfied and/or clarified.3. Work with GBT (Galaxy Build Team) from the start of complex projects to ensure Operational effectiveness is maximized. Ensure Build Team meetings are organized and effective.4. Create and assist in implementing process changes that maximize efficiency, quality, and productivity on the shop floor.5. Communicate design/production concerns to the Customer through the PM group.Additional Responsibilities as needed.1. Provides backup assistance to the Director of Assembly. 2. Provides technical assistance to Co-workers and other departments.3. Contribute readily to a positive, flexible, team orientated work environment.4. Assist in complex tool build as necessary.5. Display the flexibility to grow with this position as new tasks/responsibilities become available.

In mid 2015 Galaxy brought me to day shift to manage some of the more challenging tooling opportunities that they were developing. This included tooling projects for NASA, Boeing Military, Boeing Commercial, Spirit, Radius Engineering, Albany Engineered Composites and many more of the large programs that they were developing. This included many types of tooling from large complicated assembly Jigs,Bond Jigs, RTM tooling and many other types of tooling. This has been a very challenging and rewarding experience.

I currently oversee 2nd shift final assembly operations ensuring that quality tools get completed and delivered on time.Final assembly also supports the jig shop in many ways, from modifying existing tooling components so that they perform more efficiantly to designing and building specialised and custom tooling to help them to build higher quality tools more efficiently and in a shorter time frame. 2nd shift also has a focus on the future at Galaxy Technlogies, we help to train new employees, teaching them everything from the basic machining skills and manual machining opperations to the more advanced skills required to achieve success at Galaxy.

For the past 2 years I have been working as a program manager for Galaxy Technologies, my responsibilities include evaluating new tooling projects and determining the quickest and most cost effective way to run them through the shop, comparing this to the quote and verifying quote accuracy, creating routers in Global Shop with a detailed fabrication plan that includes all outside operations and processes, ordering all material and hardware per specific customer quality system requirements and specifications, managing these projects through all phases of the manufacturing process including any offload requirements and continuous monitoring of cost and schedule. I also work closely with the customers, providing Project files, Gantt charts and schedules to support the needs of each individual customer to ensure that they are kept up to date on the progress of their projects.

I started in 1992 as a general helper in the Plastic Mold building department running manual machines and making parts. Within 2 years I moved up to a Mold Builder position where I was responsible for overseeing and training a crew of helpers while managing several jobs at a time. I have been instrumental in helping the company start several new programs like, the Mold Maintenance Program that is still in effect today for one of our larger plastics customers. Around 1996, Galaxy Tool Corp. began doing tooling for the Aerospace Industry and I was able to get in on the ground floor of this opportunity. At first, I was designing and building all of the tools from part prints while still running a crew and managing the Mold projects. As demands grew, the Aerospace tooling became the main focus of my responsibilities. I have been involved in every aspect of the Aerospace Tooling Department.This includes: quoting, design, manufacturing, quality control, scheduling and delivery. Over the years, I have helped Galaxy build a strong relationship, built on quality and dependability, with all of the companies that we supply, through leadership, continued training and customer satisfaction.
