My primary duties at Cigna changed day-by-day to the wants and needs of the Medical Underwriting Staff. From printing prospects to doing actual medical underwriting, every day was a new task that required new skills.

Interning a full year in Chapman’s athletic department, I was able to work for over 14 collegiate sports. During games, I managed the press box, worked statistic computers and relayed information to the media. After games, I wrote press releases for chapmanathletics.com that were picked up by national Division III websites that boosted the athletic departments national recognition. The year I worked at Chapman, its athletics received its highest national ranking it had received in seven years.

The summer I worked for the city of Denver’s public relations department was the city’s inaugural celebration of the “Biennial of the Americas.” This was the first time a citywide, full-scale celebration of the wide spectrum of cultures of the Western Hemisphere had ever taken place. My duties pertained to coordinating and distributing materials and information with the event’s investors. Through the successful partnership and communication with the sponsors and investors, the Biennial is scheduled to be in Denver for years to come.
