    Development of new analytical tools to interrogate inositol pyrophosphates in vitro and in vivo. We combine chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology to better understand the underlying signaling mechanisms of these remarkably diverse second messengers. Specifically, we designed an NMR-based (nuclear magnetic resonance) detection method for inositol pyrophosphates and harness MS-based (mass spectrometry) proteomics workflows to characterize a novel PTM (posttranslational modification), protein pyrophosphorylation, that is installed through these small molecules. Furthermore, I supported and supervised Master and Bachelor students, tought them practical skills in our labs and showed them how they can manage their research projects.
