I provided legal assistance to low-income individuals. I work primarily with the survivors of domestic violence and the homeless. Most of my work is in family court. I work out of Legal Action's Racine, WI office, which serves Racine, Kenosha, and Walworth Counties.

Greater Milwaukee Area

With the ACLU of Wisconsin I conducted legal research and wrote memoranda for a federal voting rights case Frank v. Walker. I drafted part of a motion for preliminary injunction. Additionally, I helped with discovery by assisting in depositions, drafting declarations, analyzing data, and reviewing documents received through discovery requests.On a separate case, I worked on ensuring state compliance with the verdict in a case on the rights of transgender inmates.

Madison, Wisconsin Area

With the restorative justice cases, I organized and facilitated communication between felony offenders and their victims. I monitored the contact between the parties to ensure that continued communication was beneficial for the parties. With the family law cases I worked on divorce, child custody and physical placement, estate planning, child support, and other family law issues with incarcerated clients. Additionally I drafted a will for one client and worked on immigration issues with another.With all of the cases I investigated facts, performed legal research, and kept detailed case records.

I performed many of the daily tasks important to a toy and game store. I managed store accounts daily, prepared bank deposits, and performed opening and closing duties for store. I also assisted customers, monitored merchandise, and ran the cash register.

I worked with staff to respond to address constituent concerns by drafting and sending letters, answering office telephones, and interacted with members of the public. Additionally, I lead tours of the Capitol.
