As part of the @ONE alliance. Developing a Digital Transformation strategy within the Capital Delivery Programme of Anglian Water (@ONE) and deploying solutions for design coordination, digital rehearsal, collaboration, remote working and digital delivery.

BIM consultancy across a range of clients including:University of Cambridge supporting the implementation of the university’s digital estate, focus upon procurement and specification of a Common Data Environment and strategic planning to support effective migration to digital processes.HS2 a conference room pilot which was used to understand BIM requirements and process needs for the client and supply chain, focused around PAS1192 workflows.Government Level 2 Task Team, working within the BIM Level 2 Task Group to review Departmental EIR’s and to help define best practice around BIM and related processes.

Managing the implementation of BIM across the Civil Engineering business including Energy, Utilities, Highways and Rail sectors. Creating and leading BIM across multiple projects, departments and the wider Skanska business, through the definition of training, new process, best practice and knowledge share. Development of relationships with client organisations and the supply chain to raise the awareness of BIM across the industry.

BIM Manger for the M1 junction 19 Improvements Project, working with the design and construction teams to co-ordinate and deliver BIM. Training, mentoring, coaching, trouble shooting mediation, auditing the team, influencing the way they work and the data they produce. Established close workign relationships with the design team, internal Skanska support functions, supply chain as well as the core Skanska delivery team.

Managing and supporting the delivery of BIM and 4D to an International customer base.Sales, Marketing and Support activities to generate new business across a wide variety of projects from multinational nuclear and civil infrastructure works to small and medium enterprises delivering office and retail.Working with planners, project managers, BIM support staff, consultant and supply chain partners to define and deliver process, best practice and training across all BIM software platforms.Enabling 4D project delivery from concept to handover, providing effective communication and evaluation of construction and logistics activities.

Consultancy to support the adoption of 3D, 4D, BIM, PLM and Visualisation technology and process across design and engineering led projects and companies.This has included a number of longer term placements with Autodesk, Mott MacDonald and Imperial College (Design London)BIM services: delivering BIM to support client aspirations. Consultancy and services relating to BIM for multiple projects including; Hinkley Nuclear Tender, MOJ Framework, Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3, City and Guilds Headquarters, London, Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute, Kings College, Rotherham United Football, Stadium, Rotherham, Al Ain National Museum, Abu Dhabi, Imperial College, South East Quadrant redevelopment.BIM Consultancy: renegotiating group-wide deal for BIM software, configuration and delivery of Projectwise, BS1192 deployment, managing the Project Technology Group which looked after all BIM software, training, consultancy for the Mott Macdonald group globally. Whilst working for Mott MacDonald, Robert also became the Group wide BIM Coordinator supporting the board to deliver their global BIM change initiative. Other consultancy activity has been to support various organisation including; Autodesk, Morgan Sindall, Costain, Ferovial Agroman, Buro 4, GB Building.

A short-term contract to manage a number of initiatives within the Project Technology Group.Including the managment of the; groupwide deployment of ProjectWise, Bentley Enterprise License Subscription, AutoDesk Enterprise License Agreement, groupwide CAD management and deployment, BIM strategic direction and team management

Short-term contractWorking within the corporate accounts team supporting process change to accelerate Autodesk technology deployment across their top-tier accounts. Building relationships at board and senior level, with a focus to demystify the technology and process surrounding Building Information Modelling and its implications to the wider business. Working in particular with a number of large contractors and engineering consultancies to support their long term strategic thinking alongside their shorter term deployment, training and commercial licensing arrangements.

Part-time and short-term contractAs centre manager I managed the design, installation and operation of Design London's Digital Prototyping facility in the centre of London. The Innovation Technology Centre supports Industry and Institutional partners, student projects, teaching programmes and research in design, visualisation, modelling, simulation, prototyping and digital manufacturing. Working actively to integrate digital Prototyping technologies with the rapid prototyping resources of the Royal College of Art, as well as exploiting the expertise developed at Imperial College in fields such as medical imaging, computational fluid dynamics and structural analysis.

Having moved from a project based consulting role, I set up and led a Radical Innovations Group and change programme to deliver Digital Prototyping (BIM) throughout the international organisation. Reporting directly to board level I created a core team to defined the strategic direction, deliver new process, technology, best practice, training, support and a multi-million pound Collaboration Centre. The team and the facilities we managed became the focal point and catalyst for change across the organisation.The team delivered Digital Prototyping (including 3D, 4D, 5D modelling) throughout the business.A global knowledge network, that included external supply chain and strategic partners, supported the change programme and became the medium to resolve problems, enable innovation and define strategic direction.Building Constructive Relationships: building external client and supply chain partnerships to define protocols and best practice for effective project collaboration for the Laing O’Rourke group.Providing support to multiple projects in the areas of supply chain coordination, design to manufacturing support, visualisation, 3D modelling, 4D and 5D simulation, Health and Safety simulation, standards, training, process definition, software definition and configuration. Projects included; Heathrow Airport, Terminal 5 and 2, Dubai Airport, Plot 5, Dartford, Paradise St, Liverpool, Olympic Park, London 2012, Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi, Explore Industrial Park, Steetley, St Pancas Station, London, Canon Place Station, London, , North Staffs Hospital, Stoke on Trent, Life Science Facility, Cardiff University.
