I am a Qualification and Assessment Developer with AIM qualification and Assessment Group working to develop new and existing qualification titles. But what is a qualification and assessment developer?The QAD role includes the following roles and responsibilities: - The design, development, review and maintenance of qualification/ assessment materials across entry level to level 6- Sourcing, hiring and managing teams of subject specialists to develop subject specialist content, as part of the qualification life cycle- Liaising with stakeholders (Industry bodies, government, Employers, Education establishments, teachers, service providers) to establish user need and technical specifications - Quality control and regulator conformity checking - representation of the company at industry events, networking and reputation buildingI am an experienced arts educator working in the FE sector: Specialisms include 2D and 3D digital arts, photography, film and 2d games production (Pygame and UE5) - My main passion is for 3d modelling, rigging and all things Maya. I have recently embarked upon a career in Qualification development after nearly 15 years as a teacher.I worked as Program Leader at St.Helens College from 2009 - 2023, starting with BTEC Interactive Media / Art & Design - Game Art, and finally AIM awards / Next Gen Games Animation and VFX Skills - the positive experiences working with AIM awards as a teacher led me to switch roles, and I am very much enjoying seeing education from the other side!I have worked as an External Verifier for Level 2 and 3 AIM qualifications, Exam marker & as a content producer for the GAVFX suite of exams and as Subject Specialist Content Creator for level 4 VFX Generalist qualifications. I work as a freelance 3d artist and am available for hire.
