For seven years, I have worked and dedicated time to non-profits, from fundraising to event planning. I currently serve on the Board of Austin Black Pride as the Director of Community Engagement. A position I am honor to hold. The importance of evaluating queer voices and visibility, especially BIPOC, is near and dear to my heart as a black gay man. I am passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, seen, and heard. I have strived to leave every workplace and event I've attended better than when I started by cultivating conversations that help people better understand the persons they work with. With my intuitive and cheerful personality, along with leadership skills and the gift of gab, I have organized events, created relationships, and fostered cultures of learning. Bringing people together and building morale in teams and individuals has always come easy to me and brought me a lot of joy.
