I have over 40 years experience of marine and coastal environmental studies including subtidal and intertidal ecological surveys and monitoring projects; rapid biodiversity assessments; marine environmental impact studies; ecosystem services assessments; resource management and conservation studies within MPAs; blue carbon assessments (resource mapping & survey); surface and underwater photography/videography; data mining and literature reviews; and tertiary level teaching.Most of my work is within the following sectors: marine conservation; ecological survey and mapping; industry-related projects (sewage discharge, ports and harbours, oil & gas, submarine cables and pipelines, and dredging & disposal); citizen science and expeditions.Clients have included government departments, government research agencies, NGOs and other environmental consultancies, both in the UK and worldwide.I have worked on projects in a wide range of countries including the Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia & Bahrain), Egypt, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Turks & Caicos Islands (Caribbean), Ascension Island (S. Atlantic), Pitcairn Islands (S. Pacific) and the UK.
