The curious never settle. New strategies come with challenges that require someone who takes them on as opportunities to discover - a way to apply one's ingenuity, skill, and insight to acquire greater knowledge, advance one's abilities, and gain further experience. This is how I am.I was drawn to computers and programming in junior high, an interest that led to courses in university, before getting taken up with the health sciences. I finished my degree in kinesiology, then worked in orthotics and later, medical books.I arrived at Frohberg as it was transitioning from a classic bricks-and-mortar bookstore to an online webshop. My focus then was content management, using my medical knowledge to tailor our website so that it appealed to the health science professional. From there, over the years, as the competition in e-commerce grew, Frohberg expanded into e-learning and a provider of services and products for knowledge management, bringing various media together into a central hub where a user can do anything from connecting to a point-of-care clinical database, linking to a specialist website, to reading an ebook or doing a scholarly search of the latest e-journal articles. During this journey, my role evolved from technical support to in-house web development, programming, and eventually, project management.Working at Frohberg - a company in business for over 50 years - helped strengthen my belief that innovation is about relying on one's varied experience to understand the users' needs, applying the latest technology by adding value and creativity without losing the familiarity and benefits of the tried and true.In my future endeavours, I'm hoping to build on that foundation, collaborating with a team in an open-minded environment, such that I can continue to innovate and explore.
