I had the invaluable opportunity to work with our Costa Rican team for two months, during which I contributed significantly to transitioning a new product into production at our Costa Rican factory.My primary responsibilities included instructing the Manufacturing and Shop Floor Assembly teams on correct assembly processes and ensuring the product's functionality and quality. This hands-on experience provided a deep understanding of the production line and the complexities involved in bringing a new product to market.I conducted root cause analyses to resolve initial production issues, tackling problems related to GD&T, design errors and stiff/ineffective mechanisms. Additionally, I worked closely with the Quality team to ensure all parts met our specifications, communicating necessary changes to our suppliers to maintain high-quality standards.I also assisted the manufacturing team with various issues on the shop floor, contributing to problem-solving and improving overall production efficiency throughout the factory.Furthermore, I conducted supplier audits focusing on Aluminium Casting and Anodising processes. These audits were to determine whether our suppliers could meet our standards and included comprehensive evaluations of their facilities, encompassing Health, Safety, and Environmental factors.This experience enriched my professional growth through strong relationship-building with the Costa Rican team. I gained insights into their community-focused and team-building practices, which enhanced team cohesion and productivity. This placement honed my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of cross-cultural collaboration, making it a truly transformative experience.
