Responsible for the design, estimation, planning and installation of the USDA local area network (LAN) upgrade. This upgrade includes a new cabling infrastructure and the use of managed hubs and routers. Manage the Network Operations Center using HP Openveiw, Ciscoview and Ciscoworks to configure, monitor and troubleshoot devices on the USDA network. Plan, direct and supervise all installations, training, purchasing, daily LAN operations, and contract deliverables. Prepare and review all work under the USDA contract. Design, determine resources requirements and costs, scheduled, and managed the installation of LANs, video, and telecommunications systems. Develop installation and maintenance schedules and monitor the progress of these tasks. Design the upgrade of the USDA headquarters LAN infrastructure from a coaxial broadband LAN to fiber optic backbone with twisted pair distribution. Provide weekly status report for both RMCI and USDA. Plan, prepare and execute fiscal budgets and provide personnel management.
