Also heavily involved in Gas Engine Alternators (GEA) for power generation. • Responsible for electrical, instrument and mechanical maintenance and breakdowns on the pipeline in the Compression Stations, Gas Receiver Stations, MLV sites. • Accuracy Verification Testing (AVT or Fiscal Measurement) of metering equipment with in metering stations/ Custody Transfer Stations. • Extensive Cathodic Protection training, knowledge, testing and fault finding• QA and QC were highly important and very extensive. Continuous improvement to the QA and QC system on an aging asset was ongoing and required regular input and reviews. • Calibrating, maintaining and fault finding various instruments along the pipeline and within the compression stations. • Working alone or in pairs in extremely remote areas, monitoring own safety and that of work colleagues was essential. • Travelling extreme distances in remote areas often alone required outstanding driver safety. Pipeline is 1600km long not including the laterals. • Elected safety representative.
