San Francisco Bay Area

Robert leads program strategy and grantmaking to advance the Haas, Jr. Fund’s mission to achieve equality and justice. He overseas HJF's work in three core issue area programs democracy, immigrant rights, and college access and affordability. Robert also guides HJF's Bay Area community engagement programs and special initiatives. He has particular expertise in civic engagement and community powerbuilding, nonprofit resiliency and leadership effectiveness, and policy and advocacy. He serves on HJF's executive leadership team with responsibility for organizational direction and culture, race and belonging education, and board engagement. Robert manages a team of program directors, associates and grants administrators.

San Francisco Bay Area

Robert supported grantees working to alleviate poverty in the Bay Area with a focus on education, employment, youth development and health services. His responsibilities to grantees included support for nonprofit resiliency and improvement, leadership, and fund development and communications. He led a special project to reduce homelessness and increase access to supportive services in partnership with San Francisco's justice and law enforcement agencies. Robert led efforts to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion values and practices into Tipping Point's culture and operations.

San Francisco Bay Area

Robert worked in education with responsibility for the civic engagement and youth development program. He directed a five-year, CA statewide initiative to improve K-12 civic learning opportunities with emphasis on youth from historically marginalized communities. He also contributed to the Foundation's longterm strategy to sunset responsibly by 2020.

San Francisco Bay Area

Robert directed after-school literacy and community engagement programs at 30 Bay Area elementary schools serving students from low-income backgrounds. He was responsible for curriculum development, staff training programs, school partnerships, parent engagement, and marketing and development. He also managed over 60 after-school staff at schools in San Francisco, Oakland and Richmond.

Martinez, California

Robert represented lower income clients charged with a range of felony and misdemeanor offenses. He advocated for alternative and restorative resolutions in lieu of harsh criminal penalties. He provided community clients with counseling and connections to education, health and career related resources. He successfully defended a death penalty case on appeal to reduce the charges.

New York

Robert worked on a range of litigation, mergers and acquisitions and real estate matters. He counseled clients, managed discovery, conducted research and appeared at hearings.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area

Robert supported the representation of clients engaged in a range of complex real estate matters. He managed transactions, counseled clients, and conducted due diligence and research.
