Assistant Category Manager
Current- Provide a procurement service to the Trust.- Work across clinical and non-clinical environments for purchasing a variety of products and services for all hospital sites of the Trust. - The role requires an analytical approach and good attention to detail to add value and process electronic requests for goods and services on the trust ordering system.- Liaising with customers on their requirements and with suppliers to identifying and secure financial saving, obtaining quotations and rationalisation opportunities. - Provide advice and guidance to user/staff and customers, on the purchase of goods and services, to ensure compliance in relation to procurement and stock management.- Carrying out Quote and Tender exercises in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions and European Procurement Rules utilising electronic systems.- Produce and analyse reports to identify supplier spend, product usage for Care Groups and Departments and to identify areas for product standardisation and potential cost improvement/savings.- Deal promptly and efficiently with customer queries and contract discrepancies.- To meet with Supplier Representatives to gather product intelligence.- Negotiate with suppliers to establish cost savings.- Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of eprocurement systems and processes.- Work with Suppliers and internal customers to investigate and resolve invoice queries promptly to ensure appropriate credits are received and invoices are processed for payment.
