Independent Consultant for the “Netherlands Trust Fund Phase II Uganda” (NTF II Uganda) project which is part of the Netherlands Trust Fund II (NTF II) Programme. The developmental goal of the project is to contribute to the MDGs by realizing the potential that the coffee sector offers to improve the livelihoods of the producers through increases in productivity and efficiency in the value chain. The project was funded by CBI and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) an agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations.Accomplishments include; Identifying market for products produced by the project which included coffee, maize and chicken as required by the project. Participation in a mandatory training of trainers provided as part of the project, covering topics of Sales and Marketing, access to finance for Farmer Associations (FAs) and best practices in financial management; Provide timely diagnostic services and financial management consultancy for the Farmer Associations assigned in the framework of the project. In particular: Build the capacity of Farmer Associations in financial management skills through Coaching them in designing a bankable business plan (for loan application), where applicable and work closely with other project advisors, in a spirit of exchange and mutual support.
