Climate change is the 21st Century’s foremost development challenge. Handled pro-actively, it’s also our greatest opportunity. I founded Development Contours to enable clients to navigate the climate landscape – mobilising knowledge, finance, investment and technology for sustainable development outcomes.Leveraging 20 years of professional experience, spanning the private sector, the public sector, academia and the United Nations (latterly as UNDP's Global Coordinator for GCF Mitigation), and combining deep experience of climate finance instruments (GEF, GCF, LDCF, CDM, NAMAs, REDD+) with a suite of analytical skills, my approach combines intellectual rigour with a healthy pragmatism about what is possible in real-world situations.Moving from the smooth curves, elegant formulae and rational actors beloved of modellers and policy-makers to real-world deployment and implementation is a delicate balance of art and science.
