Managing the provisioning, installation, operation, upgrading, and performance testing of commmunications networks in client sites.Overseeing the allocation of engineering team resources to infrastructure projects associated with systems engineering, including system upgrades and rollouts.Undertaking long term policy and strategy planning on communication networksEnsuring the integrity of the customers technology, equipment, and network configurationCoordinating the Request For Proposal (RFP), selection and negotiation of contracts with third party vendors.Managing the ongoing installations of communications equipment with regional users, head office users, suppliers and sub-contractors.Preparing departmental budgets and forecasts and reporting on budget variances.Coordinating with customer support staff to manage the support of the customers communications network, ensuring the ongoing availability and reliability of systems is maintained.Recruiting new employees and managing the professional development of current Network Engineers.Key skillsExpert knowledge of communication concepts, including detailed product knowledge.Strong project management skills.Strong understanding of the telecommunications.Strong people management skills.Ability to build and maintain strong vendor partnerships.Advanced understanding of networking and associated enterprise infrastructure design.Excellent oral and written communication skills.
