Responsible for; maintenance and engineering teams and related systems, continuous improvement initiatives, reliability and availability of production lines and site services equipment, total site maintenance including buildings and surrounds, setting and managing Capex and Opex budgets and projects, management and coordination of major projects within agreed time scales and budgets, contractor selection and management, team member performance management, setting and achieving maintenance and engineering performance targets, and executing strategic plans within the engineering area of responsibility.

Reporting to the Programme Manager Wagons and Bogies. Responsible for the implementation of production tooling, processes and equipment to manufacture product within Australia and overseas. The Western Australian business unit of UGL Rail provides a full suite of locomotive, engine and component sales & service, overhaul & general maintenance, freight wagon build, re-manufacture and maintenance of freight wagons to major Western Australian rail customers in various locations including Perth, Karratha and Port Hedland.Reporting to the General Manager Operations, Western Australia, this role is responsible for the review and analysis of locomotive & ore wagon performance across all WA rolling stock fleets in order to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and complete engineering projects in accordance with objectives, timescales and budgets.
