Design/Development Engineering role covering:3D CAD design - Solid Edge/CATIA V5FEA for highly stressed valvetrain assembly models - ANSYS [Design Modeller/Space Claim]2D Drawing/Draughting - CATIA V5, Individual parts and assemblies. Thorough undersatnding of ISO GPS Standards [GD&T]Build and TestI have been involved with design of Valvetrain systems from first principles through to detailing and technical drawing. Using mostly CATIA V5 and SolidEdge.I have developed a solid understanding of ANSYS whilst completing FEA studies on complex assemblies, implementing Design Modeller and SpaceClaim.Dynamic analysis using SimDesigner has been used to evaluate valvetrains over a full cycle, assessing system forces and limiting speeds of components, before editing designs as necessary.I have have also been heavily involved with hardware inspection assembly, engine build and some test rig analysis of valvetrain systems. In addition I have been able to make use of my excellent workshop skills and competency on lathes and milling machines.

I worked as a project engineer carrying out product design tasks taking designs from inception to rapid prototype and production manufacture. Mainly based on EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) equipment.I produced many complex composite structures on an experimental development basis.I also completed several investigative projects under tight deadlines.
