On my way to the train station I saw an encampment of tents under the freeway, I stopped at the first one, saw a man on his chaise lounge with his dog and his book, and I asked him to tell me about his lifestyle. He said, "It’s nothing that I chose. 8 months ago I was in Afghanistan. When I got discharged I did all my paperwork, they asked where I was from, I got a bus ticket here, but no clothes, no money, no job.
