Robert is a diversified individual with varied interests. He has spent much of his life studying how cities work through a myriad of academic perspectives and creative angles. Robert has worked over 10 years as a researcher and professor in urban geography and environmental design. His expertise is on Latino migration, culinary culture, and the social economics of American cities.During his time researching cities, he produced "Transfusión". "Transfusión" is a cinema-verité documentary that traces taco trucks across the city of Columbus, Ohio, uncovering the complex and contentious circumstances encompassing Mexican cuisine in the United States. The film was well received at multiple film festivals across the country. He is the author of “The Taco Truck: How Mexican Street Food is Transforming the American City”. The book delivers an in-depth investigation and analysis on how ethnic food-ways intersect with American business ideals, urban politics, and city planning to forge new social spaces in cities. The book was awarded the JB Jackson Prize in 2020.Robert works primarily in real estate investment. He is the asset manager of Texas Triple Net, LLC, which invests in commercial real estate. He is a licensed REALTOR® and an associate at DEN PG. He works with individuals as both a consultant and an agent for property sales, leases, and investments. He also holds masters degrees in City Planning from The Ohio State University, and in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a former lecturer at UC-Berkeley, has worked as a lecturer at UT-Austin, and teaches periodically as a visiting professor at Heidelberg University in Germany, and at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.Robert has been invited to present his research at a myriad of universities across the globe; including UC Berkeley, Harvard University, City University of NY, Yale School of Architecture, Heidelberg University, University of La Sabana, Bremen University, U. Of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy, University of Acala.
