Responsible for discipline, morale, training, and welfare of Soldiers and their families, and the maintenance of equipment in access of $5,000,000; supervising the accountability of unit organizational and installation property; and providing input to the Company Commander to shape future training events which ensure mission readiness. Major responsibilities include leading by personal example; establishing a platoon climate that stresses professional competence, mental toughness, physical stamina, and discipline; promoting programs to ensure Soldiers and their families are fully integrated into the platoon team; mentoring, training, and developing junior Soldiers and Noncommissioned Officers.
