ULL Ragin' Cajun alumnus, class of 2020. I am a Windows and Linux power user. I can utilize the spectrum of tools offered by computing, from graphic design to audio editors such as Audacity. I have even been using Microsoft Office since 2002, when I learned to type my name in Microsoft word. When I was a Sophomore in high school, I built my first desktop computer. I quickly learned everything there was to know about building consumer-grade desktop computers and balancing hardware to fit a budget. My senior year in high school, I took college level courses in Java, Adobe Dreamweaver, GIMP, and AutoCAD. With this background, I was bound to dive deeper into the world of computing. In college, I quickly started to dive deeper into the world of computers. My very first college course on computers discussed each and every component of not just computers in general, but hardware itself so that each person in the class could have a complete understanding of not just CPU's, but also the CU, the ALU, registers, cache, buses, and clock. We did this not just with computer hardware, but also cell towers and cell phones, so that we would understand the underlying processes beneath everyday computer activity.Before I knew it, I was performing front end and back end website development, utilizing HTML, CSS, PHP, and JS in several of my courses. I learned about database management, and fulfilled many credit hours learning about SQL and rationalizing databases. I even learned to create calculator apps and design my own GUI using Apache Netbeans and Gluon Scene Builder.While I can use a wide range of computer applications, my dream is to provide computer services of all shapes and sizes to people from all over the world. I am currently preparing to acquire my CompTIA A+ certification.
