I was the editor of a weekly publication that covers civil court cases in California and two national monthlies reporting on employment and medical malpractice law. My responsibilities included editing, headline creation, general layout, management of reporters, writing summaries for sister publications and copy-editing. Before promotion, I was a reporter for the same company, which was called American Lawyer Media before a buyout in 2008, and my main responsibilities revolved around interviewing lawyers from around the U.S. and turning their information into well-written summaries of civil court cases.In 2011, I was a completely freelance contributor. I had left the company, but continued reporting for a few of its publications.
