Formerly known as Venture Holidays, for 39 years it was one of Australia’s leading independent travel wholesalers. Its reputation was built on exceptional service and developing relationships with a network of local travel providers and hotels throughout the world to deliver personalised travel experiences organising everything for travel agents from airfares, accommodation, transfers to local guides, activities and experiences. In 2007 an opportunity arose to become a partner of the company as Managing Director being responsible for the day-to-day running of the company. This also included:• Direct contracting responsibility for product in Europe, UAE, Africa, Fiji, Singapore & Hong Kong.• Oversaw commercial operations to expand revenue channels that included FX company strategy and contract hedging.• Assisted department management in developing, monitoring and reporting on departmental level initiatives, goals and objectives.• Provided advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation and budget preparation annually.Highlights: • Implementation of new wholesale reservation system (Calypso) in 2013 increasing online sales between 25-40% each week.• Product overhaul including new brochure designs and introduction of new destinations: Fiji (2012); Africa (2014); Sri Lanka (2017); a stand-alone Canada/Alaska brochure (2017).• Streamlined the company operations with many manual operation procedures updated and phased out.• Oversaw the transformation of the business with a rebrand which was rolled out with the name change in October 2017• Oversaw the investment in new technology by introducing Salesforce - connecting all channels/platforms including Calypso, email marketing, social media and website. • Launched new mobile optimised website in March 2018 with a wealth of destination content and travel experience to increase sales opportunities, gain revenue through advertising complementing the destination brochures.

At the time of joining Adventure World, the company was privately owned and as General Manager it was my responsibility for the day to day running of the company. Achievements:• Streamlined the company’s operation.• Relocated to new premises which re-energised the company both internally and externally on how Adventure World was viewed.• Successfully turned the company around from a loss making position to being highly profitable.• Built a stable team environment to enable the company culture to flourish.
