Bob has successfully coached over 200 young people on interviewing skills, career choices, resume writing and employment strategies.

After a successful IPO in 2011, Bob and his team dramatically grew the bank over 8 years and executed its sale in 2019. In 2014, Mahoney was named the “Most Admired CEO of a Small or Mid-Sized Company in Massachusetts” by the Boston Business Journal.Belmont Savings was honored to be one of the Fortune Magazine’s “100 Fastest Growing Companies in America” in both 2017 and 2018.

As Massachusetts President and later Executive Vice Chairman, Bob was part of the executive leadership team that brought Citizens from a $600MM bank in the early 90’s to a $160B bank 15 years later - sixth largest bank in America. 30 acquisitions and significant organic growth created an exciting and positive outcome for colleagues, customers and our community.

Immediately after graduate school, Bob joined the Management Training Program at BKB. He then spent several years in corporate lending and was later assigned to the London Branch to manage commercial lending in the U.K. Upon returning to the states he held several management positions in Retail, Marketing and finally was Vice Chairman of Commercial Banking.
