I joined the agency team of Strutt & Parker, based in Edinburgh in 2002. I cut my teeth as an agent with involvement in the full range of rural property instructions from small cottages to building plots to farms, salmon fishings and sporting estates. The first ever instruction I won off my own bat was a 3-bedroom apartment within a country house development near Meigle in Angus. With a particular interest in the great outdoors (particularly farming, fishing and field sports), I particularly enjoyed working closely with my then boss, and doyen of the industry, Andrew Rettie on farm and estate sale and purchasing instructions and this is where I have developed my career and reputation. Working initially as part of the team and now operating as its leader, Strutt & Parker's estate and farm sales team has a hard earned reputation as a market leader. The opportunity to travel throughout Scotland's mainland and islands seeing some of the most spectacular parts of the British landscape and meeting an extraordinary range of fascinating - and often inspirational - people is the reason that I love what I do and never find it tedious or dull. I am supported by a terrific team who are just as passionate and committed as I am. We feel privileged to do what we do and driven to do it to the very best of our ability.
