As a Locum Worker I work in Brother Russell House and McGarry House which focus on temporary and long-term support accommodation for male and female residents. The Out of Hours Service seeks to provide emergency accommodation for people who present as homeless and Dial House is a six unit residential service which accommodates care leavers at risk of falling into the cycle of homelessness.Duties include managing client case files, distributing medication, assessing and sourcing accommodation. Responsible for the Health and Safety of clients, with emphasis on anti-social attitudes and behaviours.

On my third year placement, I shadowed my supervisor in tasks such as key-working, home visits, support plans, referrals and case conferences. I also interlinked with other services that worked with the families, this was a great insight into the area of family homelessness.

On my second year placement I shadowed my supervisor in this homeless hostel. I was given responsibilities of giving clients their medication, room checks, writing up client case files and done the soup run on a numerous occasions.
