I am an intellectual property litigator and Chair of Hanson Bridgett’s Technology Practice Group and Co-Chair of our Intellectual Property Practice Group. My practice focuses on patent infringement and licensing disputes, trade secret misappropriation, and technology-related commercial cases. I also provide my clients with counseling on a wide range of intellectual property matters relating to patent strategy and pre-litigation advice, licensing negotiations, trademark and copyright, and trade secrets.I am a registered patent attorney and have argued cases before the Federal Circuit and the California Courts of Appeals. I represent my clients in courts throughout the United States and in private arbitration. I have been retained as an expert witness in U.S. patent law in a matter pending before the High Court of England and Wales, and am experienced in inter partes review before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and infringement matters in the International Trade Commission (ITC). I have litigated matters involving a wide range of technologies.I am an adjunct professor at the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law) where I teach patent law. I am a Past President of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (SFIPLA) and have served as the Intellectual Property Co-Chair of the International Business Law Consortium (IBLC).
