How do you convert a good idea to commercial success? It takes considerable time and money!CPI support companies through the 'valley of death' by providing access to expertise and open access facilities for development. The valley is deep as you can sink a lot of money into equipment and development, and wide as it can take a long time to make decisions. Our support helps to soften this journey reducing cost and time. Typically we operate in the Technology readiness level (TRL) 3-7 space, past discovery and towards pilot scale.I work specifically in the field of energy materials, using firsthand experience of the challenges in scale up of battery technology, recycling processes, or critical minerals extraction to help guide customers and collaborators to effective solutions. I've worked in the field of Inorganic materials chemistry for 15 years, and purely batteries for the last 7 years, including in recent years securing ยฃ3.5M+ in collaborative and commercial funding for our research programs. I lead diverse teams within our 35 strong battery group to develop internal capabilities to be able to offer improved support externally, utilising skills in strategic development, stakeholder management, communication, and team leadership. We use lessons from industry including other sectors to help new technology development.Innovation is a journey, and you need to be able to fail fast to learn more. By providing access to automation systems for battery formulation, coating, cell testing and recycling we enable more experiments to be undertaken in less time, accelerating learning. An example is taking a novel battery material from powder to optimised formulation and test cell performance within 6 weeks.Everyone wants more data on their processes. However the real value comes from translating data into actionable knowledge that can be used to accelerate decision making. Are you working on innovative technologies and looking to scale up? Let's connect and explore opportunities to innovate together!
