G'day! My name is Dr Robert Mitchell, an early career marketing, services, and digital innovation researcher. My speciality is the gamification of marketing: using game design to drive deeper engagement and long term behavioural change. I am particularly interested in applying marketing practices in non-traditional contexts, such as changing behaviour and attitudes in health, education and professional development.I completed my Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing through the School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations (AMPR) in the QUT Business School at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. I was fortunate to receive funding from this course of study through the Australian Postgraduate Scholarship Award (APA). Research drawn from my thesis (Gamification and Behaviour Change: Understanding the Mechanism and its Implications), as well as my previously completed honours thesis, has been published in the Journal of Business Research , Health Promotion International and the Australasian Marketing Journal. My prior non-academic background was in Human Resources, with qualifications in Bachelor of Business (Honours, First Class) and Behavioural Science (Psychology) through QUT.
