About Robert Moor
After taking a circuitous pathway to the classroom through the United States Army and several nonprofit institutions, Robert (“Rob”) has been teaching a variety of social studies courses for nearly two decades. Rob began teaching his teaching career at North Fort Myers (Florida) High School in 2006. During those initial four years, he taught a variety of Mathematics courses along with AP European and World History. In 2010, he taught internationally in South Korea for four years in an international school, helping to launch an IB MYP Humanities Program. He served as the inaugural MYP Personal Project Coordinator, while also teaching IB DP History in Daejeon, ROK. Upon returning to the United States in 2014, he assumed his current position as a Social Studies teacher at East Lee County High School - a Title I school located in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Currently, he teaches United States and World History (both grade level and International Centre) simultaneously in English, Spanish, and French, along with AICE Global Perspectives & Research AS. At East, he has also served as an Athletics Coach, Mentor teacher, and currently serves on several school improvement and development teams. Additionally, he has served on several national teacher advisory councils, including the National Constitution Center. Rob is always searching for added meaningful professionally collaborative opportunities to bring additional learning resources and experiences to his students. Before embarking on his teaching career, Rob earned double Bachelor’s Degrees in both Political Science and International Affairs from the Florida State University in December 2000; and completed his Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa in May 2003. He is currently pursuing a second Master of Arts degree in American History and Government (MAHG) at Ashland (Ohio) University as a 2024 James Madison Fellow representing Florida.

Social Studies Teacher
CurrentAs a Social Studies teacher, Rob has taught a variety of subjects primarily focusing on History. He currently teaches United States History at both the standard level and within the International Centre. (This is designed for monolingual students, where he teaches simultaneously in English, Spanish and French with great success. For seven consecutive years, he has guided his monolingual students to earn passing scores on the state end-of-course assessment.) He has also implemented the AICE Global Perspectives & Research AS course. Previously, he has taught World History (International Centre), American Government (Dual Enrollment & Grade Level), Latin American History, and Economics. Specific tasks for these classes involves, creating and implementing lessons from a variety of sources and for varied texts, developing materials implemented within several departments within the school. He has also served East in a variety of additional roles: as the Social Studies Academic Coach since 2018; as the History Fair Sponsor since 2019; as an APPLES New Teacher Mentor since 2020; as the School InService Representative since 2021; and as a member of our Marzano High Reliability School Leadership Coaching Team since 2022. Additionally, he served as the Cross Country Coach from 2015 to 2022, and an assistant Track & Field Coach from 2015 to 2019, retiring from this position with an Adaptive State Champion.
Ib Myp Personal Project Coordinator
In coordination with the IB MYP Coordinator, Rob helped to implement/launch the IB MYP Personal Project program within the school in accordance with all applicable international standards.
Ib Teacher - Dp History & Myp Humanities
During his time in Korea, Rob taught IB DP History at both the HL & SL levels, while also teaching a variety of IB MYP Humanities courses for Grades 6–10. His duties included creating and implementing lessons from a variety of sources and for varied texts; as well as developing materials that were implemented within several departments school wide. Additionally, Rob served as the Social Studies Department Chair from August 2012 to June 2014as well as the Boys Cross Country Coach from 2010 to 2014.

During his tenure, Rob taught a variety of subjects within the History Department. While the majority of the time was focused upon World History, he also had success with teaching AP European History; creating and implementing lessons from a variety of sources and for varied text as well as developing materials that were implemented within the school. Beginning as a teacher of Geometry at both grade level and honors level , he expanded his repertoire to include Algebra 1 (standard level) and Algebra 2 (Grade Level & Honors). Additionally, he served as the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach from 2006 to 2009 and the Boys Cross Country Coach from 2009 to 2010.
