I take great pride in my work, education and my attention to detail. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Brandon University, graduating in May 2014 with Greatest Distinction as well as the Brandon University Silver Medal Award in Geography and the Canadian Association of Geographers Award. I also won the Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal award and the Assiniboine Community College Graduation Award from Assiniboine Community College in 2011 when I completed my Environmental Technologies diploma. I am currently enjoying employment in a scientific laboratory setting that will provide ongoing learning opportunities and independence. In previous positions I have been fortunate to be able to perform both laboratory and field work duties which have provided me with a well-rounded experience that complements my education. In addition, my work experience with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship and in retail business management has provided me with varied experience working independently and in a team, strong organizational and interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities. I have demonstrated experience in multi-tasking and managing numerous projects on tight deadlines, and providing customer service to the public and interacting with professional partners. The various positions I have held have given me experience with analytical laboratory procedures and scientific sampling techniques. I have experience with safe laboratory practices and the organization and preparation of samples. I have also had the opportunity to use various scientific instruments and perform analyses and I am happy to be using this training in a full time position as I continue my career with AAFC.
