The purpose of these documents is to provide the design definition necessary to allow optimum purchase from outside vendors, and optimum build by Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (GAC) Operations. The Engineering organization is also responsible for initiating new development items (Research & Development) and supporting repair actions on in-service aircraft.The strategic mission of Quality Assurance is to provide value-added services to the Completions and Service business units at the Long Beach site. The primary role of the Quality organization is to ensure that all work accomplished by the Repair Station and the Designated Alteration Station complies with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s), GAC and supplier furnished Engineering data, GAC processes and specifications, customer specifications, and other technical data as appropriate.
