Retired from full-time employment as of August 2020, though still doing some ad hoc work on Scottish Water projects for my old employers Riddell Project Management. Now attempting to unlock the secrets of the better handicap events in UK Horse Racing. I contribute to Internet Forums and my own Blog covering Horse Racing in Scotland and the North of England. I can be found on a regular basis propping up the paddock rail at Kelso and Musselburgh where I am an Annual Member. I pass the test of hardiness by being one of the few to occupy the rooftop stand at Kelso in all weathers!Completed an Open University Earth Sciences Course in July 2021 with a Grade 2 Pass. Took Geology as an O Level subject in the Sixth Form at school and have finally took the chance to enhance my knowledge on that front.Previously wrote Operation and Maintenance Manuals across a number of sectors, including significant involvement in Scottish Water projects. The period 2011-2012 saw involvement in compilation of O & Ms for London Olympics locations.Previous experience was in managing Telemetry and Asset Scripting projects for Scottish Water.Before a move to Scotland in 2006 I was Production Manager for Churchill Controls based in Berkshire, a company producing telecommunications equipment, having worked through the ranks as a designer of control and communications software combined with hardware and system testing. During my time in Scotland two periods have been spent in banking sector, most recently in Fraud Detection and previous to that in Credit Card data entry and control.
