With his help, we delivered our semester-long career discovery and financial literacy course, and a significant aspect was the hands-on support provided to the students by Robert and the rest of our group of volunteers. Part of my role was observing the volunteers interacting with the students, and Robert truly excelled. I witnessed many beneficial behaviors: his ability to engage and empathize with the 7th graders (a challenge age); drawing on his own experiences to help them look into the future and identify their desired careers, then start to build a plan for achieving their goals; working to build confidence in the students, many of whom came from families in which these types of dreams were often not realistic. Robert demonstrated maturity, initiative, compassion, and determination in helping these students strive for successful futures. In addition to these outstanding behaviors, Robert’s positive attitude and personality, along with being a strong team member, made it a pleasure to work alongside him. I have no doubt that he will carry these skills, traits and experiences into any new role, and encourage anyone to consider him for a position in their organization."
