About Robert Parkes

I have an Associate Diploma in Structural Engineering. My experience in the area of Project Management extends to carrying out tasks such as managing and overseeing the preparation of design information, including design drawings and technical specifications, to engage sub-contractors for the supply of equipment and/or services; review, negotiate and letting of sub-contracts; preparation and issue of invoicing and purchase orders to equipment suppliers and sub-contractors; administration and negotiation of RFI’s and NCR’s; and manage, track and report project financial status to internal stakeholders. As a qualified Structural Designer, during my employment history I have gained extensive experience using a range of 3D & 2D CAD software packages in the commercial fit out, residential, infrastructure, materials handling & mining sectors. As CAD Supervisor in several of my previous positions, I have also been engaged to manage teams of drafters using AutoCAD, Tekla Xsteel, Microstation & MapInfo (G.I.S.). As a result, I have strong CAD design, administration and I.T. related skills.I have also completed and attained a valid White Card, so I am fully aware of the WHS obligations when involved in overseeing production, site construction and liaising with sub-contractors on a building or construction site.I am capable of leading and supervising others to meet key deadlines while still being able to integrate into a well-established design team and equally capable of working autonomously; needing minimal supervision to complete tasks designated to me. I believe I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and I consider my computer skills to be at an expert level.
